Kenya is well known for ‘safari’ where people from all nations come to experience the wildlife and landscapes of the country. In a recent safari which i was invited the script was different…Kenyans came together to go to major tribes in the northern corridor praying on the go! The 2,000km prayer safari traversed through many counties of Kiambu, Muranga, Kirinyaga, Nyeri, Meru, Isiolo, Marsabit and finally ending up in Yabelo in Ethiopia. As an annual safari now in its 7th year the impact on the participants who come from all churches is phenomenon. In one instance two young people on an earlier safari were so convinced that they had to go back and today they are in their first year as missionaries among the Rendille people groups, so happy that they are living their purpose.
The safari allows the young and the ‘not so young’ to experience another side of the world different from their comfort bathed with round-the-clock prayers and intercessions for the peoples and the missionaries who toil to reach the unreached. Have you ever prayed from 8am to midnight nonstop for 6-days? That’s what one experiences providing a unique spiritual awakening that results to a love for missions.
There is a lot of fun though. The meals you eat, the places you sleep and the tribal people in their manyattas and their outfits. Maybe the best part is getting the bus out of the mud when stuck around midnight…all ideas are summoned displaying the intuitive makeup of the group without forgetting wild animals that are known to be nearby. But apparently its the one crucial moment that faith rises to fever high and to see God come through every time is most energizing for the next day.

We continue to pray for the unreached in the northern corridor of Kenya: Borana, Somali, Gabbra, , Samburu, Burji, El Molo, Garre, Turkana, Ariaal, Sakuye, Oromo, Konso, and the Rendille within their very interesting manyatta formation (Uruwen, Salle , Galoro , Dupsahy , Gobory , Nahagan , Gabanayo, Galdhylan , Odhola , Nebey).
