Be a Missionary

Equipping believers willing to Go!

At Mapps, we help support missionaries willing to obey and go to the unreached places in the following ways in line with the great commission …Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit … Matthew 28:19

Identifying

The call to missions is primarily in two ways … you know it in your heart that you are called to the mission field and on our part, we prayerfully ask the Lord to help us locate your calling. Important aspects that need to be in place include your local church involvement, pastoral recommendation, Christian doctrine, Christian character, and ministry skills or gifts.

Getting Ready

Getting ready is exciting but needs some patience. Think about life in the mission field whether as a church-planting pastor or a local community missionary.

Do you have people who believe in you? Does your family back you up? This includes family, spouse, and dependents. Does your local church leadership endorse you? Are you ready to live on a missionary budget? What are your ministry skills? How has your Christian journey been? What moral and ethical standards do you live by? Are you ready [with our help] to raise resources to support you in the mission field? This will require you to cast your vision to people who know you in order to gain their relational support within an agreeable timeline.

Preparation

Your success in missions relies on the healthy and valuable relationships you have and will keep. Our role in your call-to-missions is to facilitate engagement with your natural networks to keep them informed about your vision. Your network will send you, pray for you, visit you in the mission field and celebrate you!

For the next 3-months after you successfully go through our ‘Getting Ready’ track you will do three things; you will develop a natural list of your network, we will help you develop your first communication tool and you will spend 3-months in a “sandwiched” Timotheo MENTOR school. These are not formal bible schools but are practical, relational and experiential ‘mentor-hosted’ church planting and leadership training programs fashioned after the Paul-Timothy relationship in the bible.

Generational

Now that you are prepared it’s time to live out your call.
MAPPs Foundation will be your partner in your journey. Our vision is that you will be part of great transformation of the community God has called you to. This will be possible if you carry forth the great commission and the great commandment and raise a new generation of leaders with a heart like yours- of winning souls and building thriving Christian communities. We desire that your impact and legacy last for many generations.
