LEGACY projects highlight family and personal stories that are building legacies of helping people in need especially needy children, the elderly and the forgotten. We want to walk the journey, celebrate the impact created, see areas we can encourage to make bigger strides and help the ‘unsung heros’ to widen their scope and possibilities for bigger impact beyond their own world.
Join me as we celebrate Rebecca our 2022 unsung HERO on the LEGACY project. We invite you to consider being part of Rebecca’s LEGACY journey and hopefully you can as well SHARE YOUR STORY. Tell us your story
We thank God for the opportunity He has given us a family to be stewards in His vineyard and to provide a safe place to many. Our prayer is that He may use and other us to reach more children as per His plan These are the few things my husband and I are doing:
– for the hungry we cook food at our home pack them and take to them to school as I go to work.
-we buy uniform to those who cannot afford or make them at home using our sewing machine to cut down the cost.
-Those who are bright students but come from harsh home environments we take them to boarding school in order for them to be safe and enable them get good marks which will be easier for us to get sponsorship for high school and beyond.
-we also live with some of them in our house especially the orphans and the homeless to give them that parental love.
-we also offer both pastoral and psychological counseling to those children with various psychological issues.
-Those who require medical attention we look for medical and financial help from well-wishers.
. Our dream is:
+ to use this channel to evangelize to many young people as possible.
+ to have programs that will help many young people acquire skills that will make them independent and who can in turn help others.
+ to have other people/organizations support us to help those other many children whom we identify but can’t be able to help due to limitation in capacity.
+ to have a lunch program for the many children we cannot be able to feed single handed.
For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in-Matthew 25:35
We hope our little efforts encourages you to SHARE YOUR STORY TOO!– Rebecca

Rebecca says…. “We thank God for the good work MAPPs Foundation is doing of fulfilling the great commission for we are coworkers with Christ. Since 2010 my family has been identifying needy children in my place of work (I am a primary school teacher), teach them God’s word and help them in various practical ways. I am modelling what I grew up seeing my grandfather taking care of our family to give us a chance in life. May God bless “the Kiaritha’s family” LEGACY.

[…] A few months ago we shared on our blog an exciting project dubbed ‘LEGACY project’ and introduced our first cohort. Little did we know that the seed we planted was going to provide a shade for our children’s ministries among the un-reached communities we are working in. So, it’s with great joy that we announce our partnership with DOVE RESCUE CENTER for Children, with their operational headquarters in the Kenyan Rift Valley city of Nakuru. They will manage MAPPs heartbeat and efforts to work with children living in difficult conditions wherever we operate. See their story here: https://mappsfoundation.org/legacy-projects-meet-our-2022-cohort/ […]
